Context

Thanks-Boss is an early-stage startup developing an online platform designed to streamline the recruitment process through AI-powered assistance. Its virtual assistant supports both candidates and recruiters throughout their journey, from CV creation and job/candidate matching to a range of other recruitment-related tasks.

The platform aims to reduce the mental load associated with job searching for candidates while helping recruiters identify and select relevant profiles more efficiently.

Objectives

• Design the interface for the beta version of the recruitment platform
• Maintain the product’s visual and functional consistency
• Facilitate collaboration between the Design and Development teams
• Redesign the startup’s visual identity without disrupting the existing product

Project process

✦ UX/UI Design

Throughout my internship, I worked closely with the Product, Marketing, and Development teams on a daily basis. I contributed to task allocation, presented design work, and followed feedback through to final approval.

I also supported and coordinated the Design team, helping streamline communication and improve workflows.

Work completed:
• Wireframing, UI design, and interactive prototyping in Figma for both candidate and recruiter interfaces, as well as the design of new pages and features, ensuring a clear, responsive, and consistent user experience.

• Organization and maintenance of the design system, including components, variants, styles, and asset preparation for front-end implementation.

• Competitive analysis and UX/UI research focused on recruitment platforms to identify common practices, emerging trends, and user needs.

✦ Brand design : rebranding of the visual identity

The company’s visual identity lacked consistency and clear brand guidelines. The challenge was to modernize the platform’s image without requiring major changes to an already well-developed product.

I facilitated collaborative workshops with the Product, Marketing, and Design teams to clarify the startup’s positioning, values, and visual direction. Based on these insights, I developed a new visual identity through inspiration research, moodboards, and a redesign of the color palette and typography, with particular attention to readability and accessibility.

Finally, a meeting was held between the Product, Design, and Marketing teams to select the new color palette from three proposals, taking into account feedback from each team.

This redesign helped strengthen the product’s overall consistency, modernize the brand image, and improve the platform experience. The changes were then implemented directly into the Figma design system, allowing the interfaces to be updated quickly and consistently.

Challenges

Designing an experience that meets the needs of both candidates and recruiters, combining B2C and B2B approaches.

Working on an innovative, rapidly evolving AI-driven product and integrating it into a complex field: the job market.

Collaborating closely with developers to communicate design intentions, explain design decisions, ensure a shared understanding, and incorporate their feedback.

Modernizing the visual identity of an existing product while preserving established brand recognition and identifying the areas that required improvement as a priority.

Conclusion & Learnings

This project allowed me to strengthen my UI design skills and expand beyond them. Working within a multidisciplinary team taught me how to communicate effectively with different stakeholders, present and advocate for my design decisions, and incorporate feedback throughout the process. I was also able to actively contribute to the project’s decision-making.

This experience also deepened my understanding of the end-to-end digital product design process, from strategic thinking through to implementation. In particular, I gained a greater appreciation for the importance of a clear, consistent, and well-documented visual identity. A strong visual direction provides an essential foundation for maintaining product consistency, facilitating collaboration across teams, and supporting the product’s long-term evolution.
